Delhi
We had a sleep in till about 11 today and then went out for some breakfast at Subway, after that we headed back to our room to recover from last night, we ended up watching a movie and I did some more henna on Bec’s hand. At about 330 we decided to head out to the lotus building which is a multi faith temple that kind of resembles the Sydney Opera house and is meant to look best at dusk, well when we got there is was absolutely packed! Apparently Indian custom is to go to a temple on new years day which then brings you good luck etc in the year to come. We lined up and got in fairly quickly, it is an interesting looking building, probably a little smaller then I had expected but still nice none the less. After that we headed back for dinner and tried a place that is similar to TGI Fridays or Taco Bill, we tried a couple of drinks and then had some food and then headed back to our room. The centre of Delhi is absolutely packed tonight so we are thinking maybe the locals celebrate more on new years day then new years eve as it’s a stark contrast to how it was last night.
