Mandawa
Left for our road trip to Mandawa at 9, and it ended up being a much longer drive then expected. We arrived at our hotel at about 5, it was slow going as the roads were terrible - potholes everywhere, goats/cows/pigs on the roads, some segmets it was pretty much one lane so when we had oncoming traffic either us or them had to pull off the road. Our hotel looks quite amazing with intricate paintings all over the walls inside and out. Shortly after checking in I headed up to the rooftop have a look over the town and the menu for dinner, a young kid about 14 or so was asking if he could be my guide the following day, asking where i was from, how we had gotten here, etc. I talked to him but told him i wasn’t interested (Sud had told us just before the town that it was fairly small and easy enough to navigate alone so don’t pay a guide) anyway the kid was nice enough and left.
Had a nice dinner - I’ve been loving all the different curries (although I’ve been playing it safe and sticking to vegetarian only) but even then its so tasty, Bec was feeling a little sick tonight so she stuck with plain rice. After dinner i went down to take some photos of the hotel from the outside and another kid comes up saying hello are you the Australian, your driver has asked me to be your guide tomorrow! HA cheeky little bugger! again told him I wasn’t interested about 10 times and then he left. Tomorrow we explore Mandawa in the morning and then we have been assured its a much smoother and shorter drive to Bikaner. (lets hope so).
